Hello currently i am doing seo for my clients site , since its new
i think the google dance hit
1st result its at page 4 then nothing for a month
then come out to page 2 slowly drop to page 4 then gone again for a month

since last 2 week
then comeback at page 4 dance drop to page 8 then raise to page 3 then drop to page 8
its been 3 months total but the last 2 weeks it keeps jumping around

My question is how long to wait ?
What to do ? during this dance ? keep building backlinks ?

Hit 3rd pages for 2 KWs and then gone - almost 1 week already since it disappeared
 
My site was stuck on page 4 for many keywords and it took 2 months to get to the top of page 2. Overtime your sites will increase.
 
I only see google dances on new domains. For established/authority domains i don't see any google dance when i try to rank a wordpress post. You should keep building backlinks.
 
This looks like a normal dance.. Just keep adding fresh contents to your site and gradually build quality backlinks. Prefer niche relevant backlinks at this time and make sure you use unique copyscape passed contents.
 
Yes, This is normal google dance so don't worry about it. Please make your onsite optimization is good and Slowly start link building campaign.
 
It's just a Google dance. I think it takes 2 to 3 weeks to settle down. It happens when your build backlinks.
Just update your site regularly with unique content and make drip feed the backlinks.
 
It takes too long to hit the first page and settle down. Keep building links while adding content.
 
I am not sure what are you doing on monthly basis in terms of link building, are you doing too many keyword rich focus anchor text links? There is a chance that Google has detected an artificial link building behavior and in result it is ignoring many of those links or possibility demoting your website

I know many people said keep going with links, content and on page which is something you can try however the longer you stay in this situation the higher the chance that there is something Google did not like about this website and it is not changing soon

what i am building is manual contextual links and find expired domains with good metric to put links
 
Why wait? Really think about it. This is the time to go full thrust. At launch. Add youtube videos and pinterest to really give it a good start. If you can do a fiverr video submission and create a pinterest page with groups based on your keyword to establish a strong starting foundation.
 
Google dance lasts a little longer than you'd imagine, stretching around 2-3 weeks for new domains. You should focus on adding new content and create niche-specific links. And if your budget permits, pick up some links from high DA sites. That's all you can do and I'm sure things will look up soon.
 
Normally it takes 2-3 weeks or maximum 2 months. If it doesn't come to settle down within this period, just do some backlinks to your site. Don't do backlinks in a bulk manner. Just use drip feed method to post articles in blogs with backlinks. Then only make a steady flow in the ranking of your site.
 
For my case (a foreign website), it was sand-boxed for 3 months. After the sandbox, dancing was frequent after each link I posted.
