    Hi

it is possible that we do have a google dance after a complete design upgrade from a online store with 16k indexed products PR3 and 4 years old domain?

Our home page is not on google 1 page anymore after typing domain name, I just got category and product pages there

    Any idea?

    Home Page:
Did the new design either introduce - or get rid of any navigation elements?
Adding a sitewide (a link on every page - often in the footer)
    Change embedded links?
    Alter menus?
Did you add new content or remove old content?
Did you change the canonical structure without handling the subsequent mass of 404's you'd create for internal links?

If you covered all of that - you'll probably recover.
A total change of site internals without handling any backlinks created that went to them

So say you were running a fashion website and updated the theme and canonical structure, and as a consequence the page that had womens shoes was...

    mysite.com/page441
    but became...
    mysite.com/fashion/womensshoes

All the links pointing to the original page will now error. You need to handle the 404's (and even then most of the link juice is lost becasue Google likes links to go to the proper defined URL)

That's almost a worse case scenario. But if you have all the bases covered, then just wait and you'll be fine.
