I've lost about 60% traffic on one of my sites. I've mostly lost out to sites that are DA 70's, 80's and 90's, which as a lowly affiliate site I couldn't possibly hope to compete with if authority is the goal.
I was outranking them all along because I've got better, more targetted content, but apparently authority trumps quality right now. I've waited to see if there would be any kind of rollback, but to be honest my rankings have only continued to drop throughout the two weeks.
Right now, I'm not really sure what to do. My site is definitely short on quality backlinks but I'm wary about spending a lot of money on backlinks if there's something wrong with my site in Google's eyes. There's not much else I can do though as I'd already optimized my articles well for top spots using Surfer.
The only other thing I'm missing is EAT which I could definitely improve on. I thought I'd get away with it in the fitness equipment niche, but I suppose it's bordering on health so is probably something I should look into.
