Google Console Shows 1st but...

it could be many reasons, 3 of which that I can think of are:
- it could rank #1 in one of the many indexes and data centers that google has (mobile vs desktop for example)
- it could also be a temporary thing (sometimes rankings fluctuate)
- personalized results (google shows you results based on your searching patters and history)
There might be more reasons, but I can't remember them at the moment, but these are 3 potential ones...

What do u say to a client that asks u how come i rank in 20 keywords 1st but none shows up lol

I ask what tool he used to check the rankings so I can test it myself, and if - for me -it shows the 20 keywords ranking 1st then it's a personalization / data center issue, if it doesn't show for me either I tell him that I have no idea what's wrong. But then again, I'm not an expert SEO so I don't know everything, which is why I don't take clients

I use Google Console Search and it shows 1st rank, it this trustworthy? After all its an official toolI ask what tool he used to check the rankings so I can test it myself, and if - for me -it shows the 20 keywords ranking 1st then it's a personalization / data center issue, if it doesn't show for me either I tell him that I have no idea what's wrong. a lot of things from google are "official" but this doesn't mean they're accurate. And GSC has been inaccurate / inconsistent a lot of times, I wouldn't trust blindly what it says.... And seriously, the 3 reasons I've mentioned in my 1st reply are real, so don't overlook them!
If you only have a few keywords to check and you don't mind sharing them with me you can PM me the site and keywords and I'll check them with Scrapebox and Keysearch (although, the rankings need to be in the USA, or else Keysearch won't work) and then we can get a better idea of how accurate GSC is.
But again, if SB / Keysearch (or any other rank tracker) can't find the keywords at #1 it could very well be due to one of the reasons that I've explained. So be prepared for this

as I said, Keysearch only works in USA but Scrapebox can check any country, just tell me which location you need and I'll use that engine.... This if you do wish to share your site and keywords with me, of course.
But like I told you earlier (two times already) and like @hideath also said above, just because GSC shows you #1 it doesn't mean that that's where you rank as it depends on a lot of things. It could have just happened to rank #1 for a few seconds while the GSC bot has checked those rankings, and after that you could rank nowhere.
Anyway, I'll stop replying because I'm only repeating myself. If you wish to send me the site and keywords you can send them via PM but please, only send a few keywords (maximum 10) as I don't have proxies and I don't want to keep Scrapebox running for hours

Your website may rank first for a keyword in Google Search Console, but that doesn't guarantee it will always show up as number one in actual search results due to various factors such as personalization, location and such!

Google Console Search may show a keyword as ranking 1st due to data delays or fluctuations. Check search results for accurate ranking.

1. Check in incognito
2. Check the ranking by countries in GSC.
3. Now check again with the respective Google subdomain of that country.

I have this similar problem. My rankings will show #1, down to #40 and then up to #15 and then #1 again.
I try to keep updated with my indexed pages and how fast they show on Google - I commonly search for 'site:mywebsite.com" - this may have something to do with it since my traffic is very very low?

Google search console is indicating that a keyword is ranking 1st for your website, but you can't find your website when you search for that keyword in Google search results
