Seriously I've been an avid firefox fan for a couple years now because it was smooth and so much easier to use than IE with the plugins an added plus. I tried one of the first versions of Chrome and wasn't a big fan so I threw it in the trash. Then over the past couple months or so (firefox 3.5 i guess) firefox has been sucking. Not quite as bad as IE can be but it is REALLY sluggish. Every time I switch tabs after being open for 1+ hours it lags bad. So I decided to download Chrome after watching an ad on Hulu and holy shit. I don't know why but there is 0 lag and even load times are coming much faster. I highly recommend you guys try it if you have not. Great change from firefox.
it sounds good but i ewhore and when i send ppl my aff link they cant open it in chrome they have to use diff browser
sadly we're still missing things like firebug in chrome, once they exist ill be another of the converts too, its lightning fast but until then, firefox all the way, try out the new 3.6 betas of ff too while your at it, they piss on the 3.5's, still not as fast as chrome but shrug gotta have my damm ff plugins for now so its the best alternative in the meantime, actually, id be quite happy if ff would just hurry up and get threaded, 8 cores here, they need to do something lol
gotta agree, chrome for fun. FF for work. Ive been finding excuses to stay away from FF lately though
Well until now I still use firefox Maybe in next time I will chrome if there is some problem with firefox
KINDA Me 2, the same as everyone else....Chrome for surfing and Orca for working. Much like Firefox but better Check it out if you havent already.
Google Chrome, load a page, right click and select inspect elements, then click resources. It has a debugger displaying script errors. You can also check php, css, js, http header requests, loading time for each segment etc. Chrome has loads of plugins already. It has Imacro, AddBlocker, Flashblock. It has a build in malware filter that directly gets its info from google. Chances are google will have found nasty code long before you visit any page. But most important its fast as hell. I think it owns.
I've got an 800MB RAMDisk in unaddressed /pae RAM and FireFox runs totally in RAM and never hits the disk. I reworked the sqlite databases and several other things. The result, FireFox with theme and 29 plugins cold starts in 3.2 seconds and i don't notice any speed difference when browsing between it and Chrome. You can have your cake and eat it too.
sorry but it still isnt as good as firebug, plain and simple, as for malware filter, thats the exact same 1 firefox uses lol i really do love chrome but it just cant stand up to firefox's addons
Chrome just isn't there yet as far as functionality.. The speed difference is negligible for me.. I have nothing against it though.
Fair enough. To each his own . I think the biggest log on the road is that google left it up to plugin owners to model there product to chrome. Instead they probably should have just offered support to house firefox plugins. Sad thing is for FireFox lovers, that google is Mozilla's sugardaddy. There is gonna be a time where google shuts down funding on the Mozilla Project.
Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but the potential for Google to gain info from the use of their browser is enough to keep me away. It's the same reason Google have no cookies or data on me and i've removed analytics from most of my sites.
sleipnir for light browsing "Sleipnir is a Japanese tabbed web browser, released by Fenrir Inc. The browser is known for its high level of user customization." FireFox for work and everything else. I use like 16 different add-ons that make browsing the internet much more transparent, safe, and kick ass. But compared to chrome & sleipnir, firefox's page load times could really use some work. maybe the browser isn't running at it's full potential because of all my damn add-ons lol
