Google Chrom Web Store

Just noticed when I made a new tab google itself was advertising Angry Birds Google Chrome App through a Chrom Store... I wasn't aware of this store, anyone know any more about this?

Yeah its a competitor to the Apple App Store. There are thousands of apps in the google web store and many of them are free to download. I currently have a Google Chromebook in my possession and the web store is a key component of the Chromebook's functioning.

EDIT: Not a competitor, since they run on different OS's more of a counterpart I guess...
