Hey guys, I have been noticing that Google has been changing the titles of my posts that are appearing in the search result. Instead of pulling the title directly from the post title or SEO title that I have placed using Rankmath or Yoast, Google is changing the title from the first heading tag in my content. Anyone else having this concern?

My Website:
  • Post Title: Hello World
  • First Heading Inside Content: The World is $h!t

Google result title of my post: The World is $h!t

WTF is this! :poop:

Google has been doing this for weeks, there was uproar in a couple of private Skype groups I am in.

Seems Google now think they understand your site better than you do and adjust metas accordingly.

Ted Kubaitis sums it up nicely here;

Saves time if they are optimizing and things are going in our favour, however, It could be possible this is incredibly bias. if they test a headline that isn't as good as your original, so they test again, and before you know it, more time is lost testing variations, then you see what difference it made with your selection.
