Not sure if this is old news but Google is able to read text in images. I noticed this with one of the links where the url is ranking in Google for the text that is in the image. Weird thing is I have never promoted that url using that particular anchor text but that page is heavily linked using that image on important pages of the website.

The image has a plain color background with just simple text.

add your website watermark on every image and remember to use keywords you're targeting with alt tags.
or do the opposite.

just a thought though

It has begun...MOOOOORRRRTTTAAALLL KOOOOMMMBBBAAATTT!!!!

I remember reading that the Search Engines were trying to do this in "The Art of SEO". It looks like they've gotten a lot better at it.

I don't think that google can read text in images. Last time I checked they were useing that stupid image game to label most images with tags.

Yeah, I still don't think they can.. they can only tell the about of flesh in a picture for porn etc..

Would be good if they could though.. Shows how smart they are getting

Google can't read text in Images, they read tags or alt text to judge what's in Image...
