Google Cache

When I go to google, my website shows a cache from 15th February, However, I was wondering on a wordpress site, or any site infact, is there anyway to update these cache files to todays date?

Just thought I would shoot the question, as I am not sure if there is anything to get the cached updated..

Or is it gonna be a matte of wating?

It is possible that the cache is just for you (your browser has it cached as its your site you've searched it many times, etc.) so you can try clearing that and see.

And you can't influence when Google will update caching your website. Unless you know Matt Cutts and his buddies

If you want to stop them caching your site put this in your head tags:

<meta name="robots" content="noarchive">

Thanks. This is something new to me.
I am curious, will adding '<meta name=?robots? content=?noarchive?>' to my site affect my SERPS? How will this benefit my site anyways?

Also, by adding this, i assume not even 'wayback machine' can archive my site in this case?

I don't see why it would affect your serps. But I'm no expert. And yes, that will block the wayback machine from caching your site. I think you need the no archive on every page too.

I'm sure there's a way to do it via robots.txt file too. Maybe someone with more knowledge can tell us?
