VirusTotal will continue to operate independently, maintaining our partnerships with other antivirus companies and security experts. This is an exciting step forward. Google has a long track record working to keep people safe online and we look forward to fighting the good fight together with them.

Good Or BAD?

There are strict company laws in the USA while some companies like G get a pass and do what they like - opening the doors for unregulated monopoly - is it fair you bet - it suits G just fine!

Not using that anymore, LOL :) Just stop using it and use something else similar..

Google is everywhere, in every niche...what's left Google-free?

Not happy...

Soon we'll see relevant ads based on what we are scanning....

More than that Google will be gathering intelligence about what blackhatters scan in order to manipulate Google. Not so nice.

I don't trust Google or what their motive may be in buying Virustotal.
We may have to switch to using Jotti.org for future virus scans. In the
meantime, I will keep monitoring them and see what other online users
have to say.

Now that's a good look. :)

We really became slaves of google. Even i hate this big power, i really need it also :) To earn money online i cannot think of a better way than, geting very good google ranked websites. I love google, and i hope it will love me more from now on. I need PR Google ;)

Bad.
I'm not a big fan of Google. It's like another attack on our privacy by google, they'll be gathering every information now like what kind of BH tools we use/scan, what programs have keygens/cracks, etc. And it'd never hesitate to give our personal information to other govt. agencies, like who's using pirated softwares in US or other countries, where it's totally illegal now.And then the next day, it might be possible that some cop comes knocking on your door, just because you scanned a crack on VirusTotal.:damnit1:

I don't know if it really much useful to Google. What will they do with it, really.

Yes. I'm agree with you. When we uploading file to VT, they know our IPs and location and everything. So they can keep track our works. So we have to be careful. It's better to use alternative solution.
