I doubt it. If this was the case, everyone would have gotten those wiki linksIf you have a wiki backlink pointing to an specific url...
Do you notice changes in that url that wiki is pointing after the update?
I think that the d*ck of John Mu may need some help xDwhere can i suck to improve my rankings?
"I have since learned what the update actually was. I would offer to share with you, but you're clearly pretty pissed, when really there's no reason to be "While I appreciate you were one of the very few who sent their site over for my study, I didn't get nearly enough submissions to do the statistical analysis I wanted to do.
Only about 15 people submitted a site. I needed about 100 to make it worth while, and I needed ones that had both dropped and gained. I got 1 that gained, and the rest had dropped.
It turned out to be futile sadly.
I have since learned what the update actually was. I would offer to share with you, but you're clearly pretty pissed, when really there's no reason to be. I did nothing personally to harm you. I just asked for data, didn't get enough data and thus couldn't do my study. I'm sorry I wasn't able to give you free help in exchange for 5 minutes of your time. I would offer you a refund, but I have no way of giving you those 5 minutes back.

This right there, is exactly my point. This is very demeaning.
If people share data with you, most of them expect you to treat that with respect ( I assume you have. You didn't get enough entries for your full analysis? Again that happens 100% beyond your fault. But you just said you have learned info about the update. I have no idea if that was with or without the data that those 15 provided. You didn't message these people to either say:
1. Sorry not enough people applied thanks anyways?
2. I found something useful, here is the that useful data.
You proceed to tell me I am pissed? And you want to lecture ANYONE on professionalism?
If someone in our agency gets a call from a client who sends info we ask for, hell it even is a college and anyone there would respond in the manner you just did, I would fire them on the spot and terminate any partnership I have with the person.
You want to add emotion to a debate be my guest mate, I am not angry. As you adequately put it, it didn't take that much time. However, I think you need more than your suit to lecture people on "professionalism". Either way my post and your reaction pretty much proves the point I wanted to get across. I don't see any need to further this discussion. You either get it or you don't.
Honestly, I'm fairly new to the forum so I cannot really talk from personal experience, but what I can say is that you are one of the few people I have seen with a disproportion between like received and messages posted.Guys. Can everyone lay off the hammering?
I share very openly with you all here on the forum, and I don't ask for anything in return.
At the same time I'm getting hammered by multiple people here, I have 50 PMs with multiple people asking for help. I do free site analyses for people and do my best to help as many as I can.
None of those people back me up here and I'm just getting accused of being some 'guru'.
I am very busy and I do my best to give you guys my time for FREE.
If ANYONE here has ever seen me try to upsell them anything, show some screenshots. Every person that contacts me for free help I *NEVER* try to sell you links, consulting or anything. So for some of you to come out and call me a guru is bad.
I'm feeling like I'm fed up sharing stuff only to get this kind of energy back.
Seraphiel, and anyone else who gave their site a few months ago for the statistical study. I sincerely apologize to anyone I wasn't able to get back to, and I have offered Seraphiel help in private, but I am not charging anyone anything. It's all completely free help, and rather than be grateful someone is taking the time to write guides to help you build sites, people just attack and complain because I'm either a 'guru' or I'm not doing enough.
I don't understand where this massive self-entitlement attitude is coming from in the world these days. It's ridiculous. Something given completely free, with no strings attached. You don't even have to give me an email address and you're getting guides and help, and yet I'm being made out as the bad guy. Come on.
60 sites wow that's crazy are these small niche sites? and mixed with some big ones?Has anyone seen any type of pattern at all for any gains or losses in rankings?
I'm currently tracking 60+ sites that are all over the place, some up, some down, some stayed the same, and for the most part they've all had the same techniques applied to each.

Have you noticed any patterns? I noticed my sites with no GMB are getting hammered!
You do upsell as you have done so with me.
I don't feel in any way bad about this as I see nothing wrong with it as you do provide helpful info.
But to say you don't upsell is not the truth.
You help people, upsell and also ask for pieces of the website in exchange for your help.
I see nothing wrong with this personally. I'm not bashing you.

I want to add that maybe I am wrong here in my views on what an upsell is.
If offering free advice and then saying you can do X for X amount, or asking for a piece of a website so you will be an advisor is not an upsell, then I am wrong here and I apologise.

GMB - I've got one site with GMBs for all locations, it dropped. Another site with no GMB, it's up.
Pagespeed - one site down with low mobile speed, another up to page one with WORSE page speed
Old domain / new domain - didn't matter, two 8 year old domains, one up one down, a newer domain (9 months) is moving up
Page titles - no pattern
Page headers - low keyword count / high keyword count, didn't matter (I also checked a competitor who had their city + mix of service on eleven headers)
Links - I've got one site heavy with pbns, guest posts, etc... stayed mostly where it was. A couple "clean" sites dropped.
Google caused quite a stir by announcing a new ranking factor for 2021
LCP, Largest Contentful Paint
FIS, or First Input Delay
CLS, or Cumulative Layout Shift
Yikes.
When? I've just looked through all my emails, pms and client lists and I can't find anything I've sold to you, or any conversation where I tried to sell to you.
People ask me sometimes if they can buy, or if I do consulting, but that's NOT upselling.
I have never run a sales routine on someone that has contacted me for help. Ever. I might at the most say "A couple of good links might help", but usually I only respond to someone asking me first. I don't do it to make sales. I do it because it's good energy wise to give and I believe that you get more back than you give with that kind of attitude.
I'm genuinely surprised, because it's really not something I do. Can you share with me when I tried to upsell, even pm me so I can see. An upsell is like, someone messages me asking me for help with their site and I come back with "Yeah, X, Y and Z is wrong, one of the ways you can fix this is to buy my links". I do *NOT* do that! All my response revolve around on-page issues, not getting more links.
I would NEVER say I will do "x for x amount".
In my entire history of being on this forum I have never once responded to someone asking for free help saying that.
If you ASKED me if I do consulting, or I would do something I would give you a response, "Yes, I'll do X for X amount".
Maybe at a push if someone asked me to do something ridiculous for free I would respond and say, sorry I would have to charge for that level of work. Like I'm not going to do a full silo plan for someone which is 3 days of work, but I'll spend an hour looking at someone's site and giving them some feedback
**EDIT**
Ah, I know who you are now.
Not cool to misrepresent like that.
You hired me to silo a site for you, and I provided a lot of guidance for a while afterwards. I offered you a deal where I would stay onboard as an advisor and help push the site forward in exchange for 10%. What's wrong with that? You initially rejected my offer, but kept asking me for help. So you wouldn't give me 10%, but wanted me to advise you anyway?. I got fed up and cut contact with you, now you're bashing me here trying to make it look like I upsell.
Not cool.
And your site today is growing, so you did absolutely fine. Sites do take a good year to age out, especially when you don't do link building.
I am glad to see you're succeeding though. You'll keep growing it and eventually sell it for 6 figures I'm sure. Do remember I helped put you in the right direction and gave you a solid architecture/plan to build on.
