Google Begins Penalizing Domain Leasing ?

Not really related to web 2.0. Google doesnt have problem with website that separate subdomains from their main domain (Web 2.0). They have problem with websites that use their root domain strength to boost the subdomains (which they leased and are with entirely different purpose).

For example:

blabla.wordpress.org - completely fine.
casino.bitcoin.com - not so much.

I feel like sooner or later Google will do something about web 2.0. And there is a hidden update is going on since aug 19. Our website got hit.

They did "something" about web 2.0 long time ago - their subdomains are treated like entirely new and different websites. So you do not get any authority of the root domain strength.
The problem now is with websites that (via internal linking) are making their submains like they are part of the root domain, while in fact they are not.
