Google should have thought about the consequences of launching Google bard. If everyone starts using bard to generate content for their blogs, user experience searching for information on Google will be affected. This will kill the demand for Google research. Are they seeing some other benefit of bard in some way ?

Google likely considered the potential consequences of launching Google bard, and they likely have plans to address any negative impacts on the user experience.

GPT is the future. So Google is managing the Bard engine keeping in mind what might happen in the future. Moreover, it was very important to come up with something as an alternative to GPT.

Google launches Bard cause they estimate that the majority of searches will be gone sooner or later, why would you search and have to look through results when someone can just give the answer?

Some stuff will still be around for search but definitely not informational articles. I assume reviews, personal views, recommendations and stuff like this will still be around for a while.

Well, they will probably promote some ads on Bard Dashboard. So, it is a double kill.

In my opinion, it depends on the niche.

For example, lets say you have a unique cooking blog with recipes you only know, no one else, google bard can't compete with you. If the word spreads, then you'll have more leverage than google bard.
However, google wants google bard for trivial things, like knowing how many inches are in a meter.

Once you post the recipes you only knew, well now everyone knows so does the ai. You think ai will not scrape whole internet like Google does? Think again.

those consequences where on the table the moment chatGPT exploded, bard or not. google can't push the genie back to the bottle; they can ride with it or be left in the dust.

You failed to see my point.

What if you only had 100s of recipes? What if your 100k monthly users are so impressed they subscribe to your newsletter because your reputation is that good. AI won't replace everything only trivial stuff. You could easily release each recipe each week, trailing them on for months, and then when it comes to time for monetizing, its already done.

We will still have journalists doing what they do, we will still have programmers doing what they do. the list goes on.

I see your point.
Ai will replace 99% content and then 99.99% and then 99.9999% and then it will be literally impossible to compete as it will create recipe far better them your "excelent" recipe.

They will bank big profit from Bard. :D

In Google search, they are providing info free of cost.
With Bard, they will start paid subscription in future (same as ChatGPT started)., so they will make profit not loss in any way.

But it will effect their profit for google.search related services which is the major component at the moment.

Never forget that regardless of which GPT it is, its data source comes from existing website content. Without the support of website content, GPT would stagnate.

In other words, website content must exist first before GPT can update its database.

When people need to understand something in more detail, GPT is obviously not enough. Just like how you don't expect GPT to teach you detailed SEO techniques, which is why you came to this forum to ask questions.
