Google Authorship - fake user implications

Hello Blackhatters!

Me and the missus are looking at starting a new website. It's in a niche neither of us have wrote in before, but have an interest and experience in.

My forte is music and technology, and her specialities are music and writing, thus we already have facebook, google+ and twitter pages etc.

This new website has nothing to do with any of that, so if we want to do some Google authorship, we will need to set up separate profiles.

I was just wondering about the long term implications of this? I've read a few posts here on how to set it up and the impact it has, but non about what could go wrong if big G busts our dual identities....

sooo.... We are going to have the website set up with 2 authors (both of us), as we have different writing styles, and it should look a bit better in the long run. Is there any problem with setting up new G+, Twitter profiles etc to go with this niche, with the same names we have? I presume we'd have to keep up appearances on there too....

TBH dude, I think you're reading too much into it. Google doesn't care if the author is fake or not. If you have the right markup, author results will appear, the way I see it.

This is just speculation though, I don't have any facts to back my claims.

since people started writing pseudo names have been used legitimately, and g won't ever put a stop on that.

Awesome, you don't see any problem of a couple of "Joe Bloggs" g+ authors? Just thought it would be nice to have a picture in the SERPS mainly for that 'authority' look.

there are many people faking , and having a hot women pic with your website results in google , can get more traffic lol.

Yeah, both good points!

I probably won't add the rel=author stuff until the site's been live a bit. Does G really want the G+ linked to Twitter and Facebook etc, or will the G+ page do?

Also, is there any benefit of having multiple authors on a website other than to look like it's a community of specialists? I thought it might be better than a single author, especially if people make guest posts in the future...

Google doesn't want anything to do with other networks

But yeah, you're right. The more your result stands out, the higher your CTR will be in theory.

That is such a wrong statement.

WILL get you more traffic!

If you have other authors with authority guest post on your site, it's definitely going to help rankings. The main key here is that these authors have authority in your specific niche. Someone who is an expert on cats and in a bunch of other cat circles, is not going to give you value if there posting on your site which is about music and technology.

Yep - done it on quite a few of my sites and have the little profile pic next to the result in the SERP. It really does make a massive difference to CTR.

Just make sure your profile pics aren't traceable: Use Tineye & Google reverse image search.
