My dear blackhatters,

I would need some advise on this issue.

Prior 2010 : I have a site that is ranking well in Goog.Au (The Web) for thousands of keywords. x,xxx, xxx visitors. I'm happy :)!

March 2010 : Major G Crash!! The Big G dropped my cache pages like crazy (70% dropped) and so are my traffic & earnings. Have to admit, 50% of my content are duplicated. I died  !

Sept 2010 : Added a huge number of fresh and unique content. Things are looking good and Big G slowly started indexing my pages. I'm back :D !

March 2011 : Panda!! I started losing my rankings in Goog.Au(The Web). And all my money making keywords are ranking well in 'Pages from the Australia' instead!!!!My advertisers are all jumping now but it's not as bad compared to March 2010.

Some info - Host in AU. Have a dot com domain

Well, that's my journey for now but any experts here with advise on how to push my rankings back to Goog.AU (The Web)? Appreciate your help.

I suppose you already know this, but having .com.au domain name is probably the most important factor in ranking for G Australia, as well as having EMD. If you're stuck with .com, then you need to get local backlinks. List with trusted local business directories, like local yahoo, yellow pages and a ton of other high PR paid directories (small fee, some are free). Try to get .edu.au or other local high PR forum and blogs. Local backlinking works.

The above advice is spot on. What kind of website is that? Ecomm?

Thanks slim_dusty for the tip. Appreciate your time.

BTW, mine is a online business/location-based directory and EMD of 300,000 searches monthly. It used to be well-optimized for thousands of keywords in g.com.au (the web) but when Panda hit, I'm now more visible under 'Pages from Australia'. All my keywords under 'The Web' has really taken a big hit.

As for backlinks, people (users/webmasters) have naturally linked to my site in forums/websites/fb and I've been building links (article/video/web 2.0, etc) for the past 1 year to keep up with G. I'm now trying to find a solution on whats the best way to be seen in 'The Web' rather than 'Pages from Australia'.

Thanks Guys!

1.Make only backlinks from Australian pages
2.Make Backlinks only Pages which are in Australia
3.<meta http-equiv="language" content="au"> <-- don't know if it works for you but for my german pages it works.
4.Bookmarks in ".au" pages

That is a give, surely the info isn't new. Basically the major updates are for Google Global........the localized algo changes follow a successful global initiation.
