Google Attacks Maps Reviews

A couple of days ago I noticed my Google reviews counts on the map listing get cut in half. I thought this was a isolated incident due to most of my reviews being purchased.

Today I noticed my competitors reviews got dropped significantly too. I have found out that Google is starting to remove 3rd party reviews from directories. Though my reviews are cut in half, I'm absolutely thrilled because my competitors have two reviews at the most and I'm the only one with five stars.

When you say third party do you mean other websites? They phased those out a few months back.

If you're referring to actual google places reviews, there's constantly bugs going on that cause reviews to disappear. One thing I noticed that Google has done lately is to change the URLs for listings. I'm told they were doing this to prevent people from scraping them. I've had a bunch of listings glitched out lately because of their constant bugs.

I was referring to third party sites like Judysbook. My judysbook has been erased as my two other third party reviews were removed. Wonder what took them so long if this was released a couple months back, but I'm glad it hit either way
