Google Analytics. Use it or no?

It's a BIG No. I dont want Google to know what I am doing.
 
I use piwik and love it, if nothing else then for getting my info real-time instead of delayed. It's a solid option that I would recommend to anyone, paranoid or not :D
 
Does anybody have evidence of their sites having issues because GA was installed on their BH sites?
 
If you're going blackhat, than don't give Google any information that they can use against you. This includes Analytics, which doesn't only give them insights in what you're doing, but also makes it more easy to find more sites you're owning.

So don't use analytics, and if you can't resist it then at least don't put your white hat sites (if any ;)) in the same account as a black hat project.
 
I don't know I wouldn't give the beast more access to my sites especially if I am blackhat. They're making noises about blocking spam comments and how much easier can we make if for them by giving them carte blanch to our web site traffic statistics! I don't trust them!
 
Few months ago I start creating couple of autoblogs without GA and it surprises me that it gets alot of organic traffic fairly quickly than my older autoblogs who HAS GA..
 
If you are doing something that can be considered black hat then if you got a manual review you will lost all sites on this account.

But if all sites are separeted them you would lose just one site...
 
Google probably has roughly the same information on sites regardless of ga.
 
I use GA on all nearly my sites but am starting to get a bit paranoid and am testing Piwik on a couple. Of course if you have adsns then you may as well use GA.

Exactly!
All GA allows you to do is view the data is complied regardless. The GA code snippet is simply a proof of ownership/ admin rights.

Um, no. When the surfer's browser loads the GA javascript, it directly reads browser info and provides G with the traffic data. If you don't have the GA snippet on your site, G doesn't get that traffic data. They can very roughly infer your traffic from toolbar data (and possibly Chrome) but they don't have anywhere near the same amount of info about your traffic if they don't have the GA data. For example, without GA they don't have: exact traffic numbers, IPs, paths through the site, accurate bounce rate, referrers, search engine hits referrers from other SEs, browser / OS statistics... the list goes on.

Doesn't your host have awstats or webalizer in the server or what? :D

Someone said that by removing GA they got a bump in the SERPS, and you know what, i believe it.
Probably the reason that he got the bump in the rankings was because the pages got faster to load
after removing that ugly GA javascript from there. It should be no susprise that faster pages rank higher ;)

For those with tons of sites, its better not to have GA installed. That would cover every footprint from the eyes of Google.

If you would need traffic data at all, clicky is still good.
 
I think that, better dont use Analytics

because it is one product from Google like Adsense, nobody can know that happen without Google

I try to use Piwik and i found that Piwik have similar statisc like Analytics:)

personally i wouldnt be mixing whitehat and blackhat on the same account, but if your using multiple accounts for different sites id say it would be ok
 
I don't want Google knowing I have a site. I don't want Google knowing anything more than they have to. Even writing this shows what power Google has today.
 
For what its worth, I have a few sites that are #1 for all targeted keywords and the bounce rate is over 85% and avg time on site is less then 40 seconds.
