Has anyone seen the SEO section in Google Analytics?

Im trying to make out what exactly counts as an impressions.

If you click on queries it lists all the keywords people used to find your site.

So my top keyword. Its says "3000 impressions, 60 clicks, average position 45".

So I was wondering,

1) Do it count as an impression if you page was included in the SERPS even if your on page 40 and the visitor doesnt actually go to page 40?
2) The fact that my average is position 45. It means im not always on page 1? (must at some points if im getting clicks) so what determinds when or why would I be on page one sometimes.
3) If I was to do SEO for this keyword and get my average position onto the first page then I would expect a close number of clicks to the 3000 impressions im getting?

Impression means, you site was listed in a result.
Maybe your average on google.com is 99 and on google.ca is 1 so 99+1/2=45

Yeh I know that but what im asking is. Does it count an impression even if you where listed on page 4 and the user didnt actually go to page 4?

So your saying it takes into account all google locations and groups them under one big thing?

An impression means that your site has been listed in results. This means few things
1. either people are really going trough hell lot of pages, to find what they are looking for and sometimes they click on your website.
2. You can set google to show 100 pages on 1 page. (If I am not mistaken this feature is quiet new.) Thats what I do when I am scraping some results manually with SEOquake. This means an impression if your page is 45th

And yes average position means different positions in different countries. So if we are talking about english, you might get surprised sometimes.

Also webmaster tools arent that much realtime - so some kind of difference may lie in the past.

Hope that helped.

go for bing webmaster tool may be you get better idea..

Impression means that you were on a SERP for a particular keyword, somebody saw your page but didn't necessarily click on it
