Can you insert google analytics on free blogs such as wordpress/blogger?

This is with out the use of hosting/domain.

Yes you can, you have to paste the code in your template.

In wordpress you can paste analytics code in footer.php.
In Blogger you can paste analystics code before </body> Tag.

i have a number of blogger blogs. never really messed around with wordpress too much.
Google Analytics seems to work just fine for blogger. the one problem is your av. pages viewed stat might be a little off if you're on a one page blog.

Would you say that G An*lytics would tell G where all your bl*ck h*t sites are located and get them either de-indexed or ranked lower for keywords? Is it safe to use?

I have use analytics since beta and the fears of them finding you by using the code should not be a concern. They will find you anyway unless you have restrictions to keep the robots out. If you are in the SERPS, they have already found you!

there are a couple of plugins for wordpress, i personally use "Google Analyticator", which worked perfect on all my blogs.
