I have registered Google Analytics on my website, but it seems like it doesen't register traffic very well.

On Cloudflare, the analytics show that my site has about 1000 unique visitors per day, while google analytics shows about 50-100. I also have a viewcounter on my blog posts that shows similar result to the cloudflare statistics.

Why is this?

If GA setup correctly, I would not believe other sources. You can send test traffic right from GA admin to find out if it is working.

I know that the site is receiving more traffic than what GA shows.

Example: I upload a link post on reddit. On reddit i can see that 200 people clicked on the link. On GA, nothing turns up.

What might be the case though is that GA has stricter rules on what a visitor is, like that the visitor has to be on the page for 30 seconds etc.

Other code on the site may interfere with how GA fires, therefore, show incorrect data.
I had an issue where GA showed 0 bounce on one of my publisher sites, but that's not possible for 50k visitors a day.

If you use WP and GA plugin, you can try re-installing it

You might be right, i have a huge amount of plugins, so that might interfere with the tracking, but I suspect its just a difference in how the tracking works and what is defined as a "visitor".

Not, really, but even if it is, I would trust GA and not other sources.
I suggest looking at the code, checking plugins, maybe re-installing GA.

I am a complete idiot when it comes to code so not much i can do there, but i will try to check the plugins and reinstall GA. Thanks for the suggestions mate.

Did not seem to help unfortunately. Is there any plugin (WP) that might interfere with the tracking?

I have the same problem with GA. It is not showing the Facebook referred traffic for me.

Same here. Google search traffic seems accurate, but only a few percent of referrals through facebook/reddit get through.

Because it is register as (direct) traffic, but it is register in Analytics, NOTHING tracks better a visitor than analytics, other softwares track "calls to the url" that are not the same thing, with analytics you can CLEARLY see when your visitor is a bot or not, nothing beats Analytics.
