Those impression might be from your own views (usually happens). If you are using some sort of plugin for Analytics than the plugin won't be recording your view thus showing this difference in record.

Google Analytics is not dead, but it sounds like there is an issue with your tracking code.
Is it on the top or bottom of the page? Have you recently added other scripts that may interfere?

Did you change theme recently? It seems like tracking code is not installed.

I second that. It be easier if u have a google analytic plugin, assuming u using wordpress. This will relieve u of the hassle of tracking when change themes.
