About two years ago i have removed anything even slightly associated with Google from all the websites I own. Google analytics included.

You may call me paranoid, but I find it hard to trust Google products when their core business is affected. Since then I never experienced any drastic SERP movements downwards, and Panda + Penguin are just a names of animals on my end. It might be because I learned few tricks, and not due to removal of Google analytics, but I dont intend to put that theory in practice.

Anyway, back then I switched to Piwik. Piwik is nice, but requires self-hosting, and that part never made me happy.

A week ago I tried something new: https://metrika.yandex.com/

Same idea as Google Analytics + Webmaster, only now it comes from Yandex. E.q. trust is not an issue, as my/your primary traffic comes from Google, yet it has all the benefits of Google Analytics.

i faced the same problem and eventually chose piwik, i didn't find any decent alternative and the self hosting is not a major issue IMO
 
I use GetClicky.com, it's excellent, how are you guys using PiWik across lots of sites? It leaves a huge footprint if you use a central domain and I'd had to have to install it on every single domain I own!

sorry to bump. I need a tool to Traffic sources and referrer since my site is blackhat i don't want to use google analytics. I tried piwik it was not collection log from my site having some issue getting states. Is there any free analytic which provide from where i am getting the traffic.

Why i am asking a tool, my current web site is getting traffic not from Google. I need to find which source is provides more traffic

Personally, I'm happy with Google Analytics. Why would you want to switch? Privacy? Pretty much GA is key to G's whole business model, so they've put mountains of cash into this software. With these scale economies, there really aren't better free solutions.

I know there are plenty of good paid ones though. At a company I used to work for we used one made by IBM. It cost well over six figures but it was awesome. Integrated pretty much every ounce of intelligence one could gather about site visitors into one platform... things like sentiment monitoring for keywords. So, for example, if we wanted to see what people though about the latest change to CoolWidget, we just type in Cool Widget and we can see what people thought of CoolWidget on and off site, pretty much at any time. Ahh that was fun.

Anyway in the SMB world, I'd suggest you do some Googling for paid solutions. For about $100 you can get decent software. I'm forgetting the names, just google you'll find good ones. They all have free trials, so try them for yourself.

its simple and have realtime data such us how many user online,ip, browser, os etc

HiStats is pretty bad, there is little data analysis available.

Statcounter I use in conjunction with GA, since I sometimes like to check immediate stats and IPs. Except the traffic cap renders Statcounter pretty useless.
 
I don't have such a paranoia by myself on using Google products and I don't actually think that somehow it can affect something at Google but everyone have his own opinion.

Talking about Yandex Metrika - I had a chance to try it too and it's pretty awesome. It is nothing wrong to use it for sure and it's better than Piwik for me too.

All those Statcounters and other stuff - you just can't compare them to GA or Yandex Metrika.

Does the yandex analytics require the same method of integration? Like do they give you a tracking code like google?

I use HiStats and I think the data is pretty reasonable considering it's free. Not as extensive as some others but it's reliable and actually in real-time instead of just saying it's real-time.
 
Ive used GoSquared a bit as well --- this comes down to budget really - Free vs Paid Solutions.
 
The ones that we recommend are:

Clicky

However, all actionable data the tool provides is definitely worth $150 of annual subscription.

Foxmetrics

This is the service that provides a wide range of options under a variety of pricing packages. It offers a 'no credit card required' 14-day free trial, and packages start at just $20 for a Small package. The basic package includes 100,000 Requests, great email support, error tracking, unlimited applications, unlimited users, and custom events.

How about "Statcounter". Should be a good alternative to Google Analytics.
