Google Analytic basic questions

Hey,

Just a couple of questions:

1. Can you see what times people hit your site in analytic's? I know you can view in real time - but can you see what times people generally hit your site in a monthly report?

2. Can you see individual behavior or does the Analytics just work in averages? For example, if 100 people spent 10 seconds on a site but 1 person spent 4 hours on the site, if analytic's does just work on averages then the average time on the site in this case would be misleading...

time of day = yes you can, under the audience tab (normally, i also see they have changed stuff)
individual stats = yes and no.. normally no, but you can split traffic into different sub segments etc.. (eg. first organic, then landing page, then city, etc...)

Hey, thanks for that. I cannot see where you can find the time of day? I am looking now.

The good thing though is that I have found the answer to my second question. Under Audience --> Engagement you can see how many people visited between 0-10 seconds and 11-30 seconds.

in audience; overview; you can select by hour, day, week or month. is that what you meant?

Google does not provide anything broken down to the individual user by default. As one of the TOS is not to collect any personal identifiable information such as IP etc.As you found you can get a decent idea under Engagement though. I think you'd rather want groups either way than going by individuals.If it is a truly important metric for you, you could set up a Goal with Minutes > X and display the goal in the dashboard etc.Soon it should also be enabled across all accounts that you can view interest groups/demographics.
