Google Adwords Not Showing Correct Data

I the past 3 weeks, i have ranked 3-4 sites for some competitive keywords only to find out that adwords keyword planner is not showing real data.

I made sure that:

• Adwords is showing results for exact match.

Like adwords keyword planner is showing that a keyword has 10,000 monthly searches and being on #1, I am only getting 20-30 visitors per day. Am I missing something? or there is a better way to get traffic estimates for the keywords.

why #1 site will only get 10-20% of remaining 40% ?

A.
40% remains for organic results.
half of that traffic will go to "trusted" "branded" results.
now 20% remains
half of that will depending upon "encrypted search"
and half of that will go to your site.

i am not a pro , just sharing my experience.

Shit. Google is really killing everything. Thanks for clearing this up. Now I know the reason where the traffic is going.

but this not means that niche is not good.
if you not have problem in sending me niche ,then i may be able to provide you some good ways to get traffic.

Your keyword was showing 10,000 monthly searches for which location ? if location is set to ALL then you need to check which location take all share ?

for example:

if your keyword 10,000 monthly search from (All location) and 9000 from (France) and you did rank your website
1# in google.com (US)

Then you will get the 20-30 visitors you are talking about, you need to make sure the 10,000 is for which location first before start your SEO, Google for Geographical Targeting

A side note #1 in Google doesnt receive 100% of traffic, usually its about 40% depend on the niche

Only 10% will you get it is too low afterworking hard to rank for it.
Thanks Prab for making it clear, i also went through this situation long ago.
