Google actually going after content farms?

Are you serious? EzineArticles is a piece of shit! If you call that useful content then an autoblog with unreadable content is useful too. EZA is what I call an accepted SERP spammer. Or so it was.

Geez ... Chill out, dude. You'll have a coronary!

I was talking about collateral damage being caused and I was just using EZA as an example because whether you like them or not, it IS a high profile article directory that got seriously hit with this change.

Plus, nowhere in my posts did I say EZA has either useful OR not useful content on it's site. AND useful means different things to different people. ;)

Funny thing is that I've already seen plenty of splogs above what I would consider legit content sites. Means G hasn't gotten it straight yet. LOL

Still should be interesting in the coming weeks to see how far this all shakes out.

The question is.. what defines "quality content." The definition is completely subjective.

How the hell did Labnol get on the list?

Sometimes I end up on his blog when I'm looking for something and I always get an answer that helps.

This trend is disturbing.

its good to know that they are getting those content farms. most of them are my competitors.

I agree with it.
Amit Agarwal at Labnol is known to write some quality stuff and a visit to his site will prove that. And he had been enjoying some great Google Trust for years. Even Google Adsense themselves have linked from their blog to his site labnol . org.

If his site is punished in this Algo change, then certainly there must be lots of legit sites getting punished and I assume sooner or later, Google will have to tweak the algo again to include them.

If he is
