Google 7-Pack has been replaced! 3-pack, AKA Snack Pack has taken over.

I was a fan of the 7 pack.

Looks like it is a move by Google to add some more PPC options to the serps. Local SEO will be more competitive.
 
They do everything to get more money into ther pockets :(
 
One of my business site the 7pack was removed for a kw (kw was service, country).
 
Not a good change IMO but what can you do. Now there are less businesses on the front page of local keywords - you can look at that how you wish: less competition or less opportunity, up to you, both is correct.
 
pro tip: i hear 7-pack still shows for tablets! (dont flame me if im wrong)

also after more thought, this is MUCH better for mobile users and marketers. Yes you see only three local listings, but now your more likely to tap the "show more" icon. Which expands the local listing to around 20!

So yes it sucks for the desktop and obviously google is trying to combine the Ads and 3-pack together so people are more likely to click on ads. Its great the way the ads shows the phone number but the local listings dont! /sarcasm
