Hello. I managed to rank my website on 3rd place (USA) in Google SERPS. My main keyword has about 500k(USA) monthly searches but I only receive about 3k/month traffic. Why so low? I verified the SERPS using some USA proxies and there are no Paid Ads before me or something like that. Just 1st place, 2nd place, ME , and more...
    Thank you!

Have seen it many times before. Some of the stats in Google seem not to be accurate ot only apply for ADWords and you can't convert it to organic keywords.

The niche is not dying. Last month had 823k/month and going up! Maybe Google planner is not so accurate, even though this would be the first time it happens to me.
Or maybe the 1st place is getting 90% of the traffic.
    Thank you

Focus on the low competitive keywords related to your niche and buy more quality links from an authority site which should not have any spam.
I guess you can get more traffic.

How are you verifying your rankings? If you're only checking yourself the results might be skewed based on what google thinks you're looking for.
They'll rank your site higher up only for yourself because you've visited it before. Which means you're not actually ranked #3.

Are you using a tool to check the rankings? If not, that's probably the issue.

    sounds not really possible ....
how you are checking. if you search with your computer the ranking ist not the official one. its your ranking result based on the fact you visited your page many times.

I see nobody mentioned conversion rate optimisation (CRO) as being a possible solution to OP's low click-through rate (CTR).

Here's an example for you OP, albeit a very exaggerated one: let's say your keyword is "heavy duty flashlights" (flashlights, not fleshlights) and you're ranking in the 3rd position. The top 3 fictional results are as follows:
Out of those 3 examples, which one are web users the least likely to pick? That's right, the 3rd one. However, if the owner of the 3rd website cleaned up the title, cleaned up the description (by making it more appealing to their target consumer) and removed the hacked site warning; the site would most likely see an improvement in their CTR.

In your case, since you're already ranking well for the keyword, it might be worth your time to figure out why web searchers aren't clicking on your result in the search engine results pages (SERPs) and improve the appearance of your result to increase your CTR.

Additionally, this is something to keep in mind when you're looking at data for a keyword: http://searchengineland.com/heck-going-google-keyword-planner-253062

Afther reading this and thinking hard.

Clean the title up as said above fantastic suggestion.

I think also use scrapebox and see what back links the competition has and register the high quilty one to your own website.

Maybe that a foward plan or just setup a pbn
But i think above will do it.
