Goodbye Google PageRank

Interesting times for those selling links (Sape, et al), or building PBNs off this metric.

PR was the first algorithm google started on, pretty sure they are just hiding it from public view but it will be still be a part of whole algo behind the scenes.

Personally, I think that PR used to be a good metric if you're looking to build a PBN.

If a site had a high PR, which was then verified by it's link profile as well as it's high trust flow, then it would be pretty powerful yo.

Whats all this fuss about PR it never meant anything for ages anyways...

Keep believing Google...anyone remember Google rhetoric on no pagerank update in 2013 and what happened in Dec? Oh no-it was an accidental release during a background upgrade!

This just mean you need to build backlinks to your backlinks. I shall call it 'white hat rank and bank'.info

Who cares about Google PR?
Better use the new MajesticSEO CF / TF ratio as it give you a real metric to rely on!
Cheers!

In 2014 and beyond, it's no longer essential to know what the page rank of a webpage is anymore (though it would be useful, and it's more substantive when it comes to buying authority inks). The IM world now knows how important the authority of a page or link is for ranking purposes compared to when PR was launched, and has replacement tools (backlink comp checkers, DA, PA, TF etc) we can live with to build strong backlink profiles. If you have a couple of decent SEO toolbars on your browser (SEOQuake, RDS, Moz, etc) you can get a fast idea of any page's authority without even seeing the PR. In general and in the long run, the more things we have freed ourselves from being dependent on Google for, the better.
