Hi guys, I'm and absolute beginner in video editing. I have widows 8 and xp platforms. I am looking to edit my daughter's soccer games for on line sportworx and gotsoccer. I am looking for something user friendly that also does audio. I was given an advice from a friend of mine to purchase the Adobe Premiere Elements but it's a little expensive to me. Could you advice some other software with similar functionalities but on lower price. I have read a review for Pinnacle Studio 16 which seems good enough but on a quite lower price (about $60). What would you advice?

thank you guys. I consider using Sony Vegas because many people already recommended it to me. About the Video Pad a friend advised me not using it (i don't know why). And what about the Cyberlink PowerDirector - videoeditingsoftcom/powerdirector-cyberlink/ ? It's on the lowest price rates I could find in the e-net. Is it good enough and are there customization and effects as g0g0l said? thanks in advance.

if you want to hear a free software recommendation i would advise you to try blender. Actually it is a 3d modelling software but it has a decent video editor, you need to understand how things work first but after using it a couple of times you will find out that it is actually very powerful.

Power Director is the best option if you do not want to spend a lot of money.
It is so easy to put together simple projects and there is nothing to learn, you can
start editing and add effects as soon as you start the program. I have had Adobe premiere and I like
Power Director better, its much easier to use.

Serif MoviePlus is a good, reasonably priced video editor. A free version is available - do a search in Google for "free serif software".
I've been using sony vegas, after effects and adobe premier for years now but if you are looking for nothing outstandingly fancy I would recommend using sony vegas, it's easy to use, has many inbuilt transitions and effects which certainly brings up your videos production values and its very easy to get the hang of, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to get into film editing to use song vegas. Just my 2 cents, plus there a many tutorials on youtube on how to use it.
