Good seeding software?

I'm very new to the torrent game. I have a program that will create torrents in batch from every file in a given directory. The problem is that I can't find a program that will seed torrents created outside of itself. Everytime I try to seed with Bittorrent, or Utorrent, or Bitcomet, they won't seed. They don't recognize that I already have the file unless I create the torrents, one at a time, through the individual software package.

Anyone know a program that I can use to seed torrents not created in it? Or a seeding program that can also create torrents in batch?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[EDIT: Never mind, figured it out finally - but any suggestions as to a btter tool to use besides the original Bittorrent would still be helpful]

you just have to

- put the files that you are seeding into the downloads folder that is set in utorrent settings

- add all the .torrent files that you have created to utorrent (in other words, open them in utorrent)

- right click all the torrents you have just added and click on force-check

The original Bittorrent program is pretty terrible - very barebone approach. I vow by μTorrent these days, haven't come across a better torrent client so far. The steps that bigman outlined should do the trick (if not, post again and we'll need to pinpoint the exact problem you're having).

uTorrent = the best IMHO. ++ you can use the WebUI feature for remote-controlled server-seeding as well


I don't know much about most of the things on this website but I used to do some things that got me some fast (100mbit) EU and US seedboxes, now I just need to find a market for them besides private torrent site users :$

seedbox FTW. it beats manual seeding all day, saving your b/w and hosting alot more files at fast speeds.
Plus there are some good seedbox dels around if you know where to look.

Get uTorrent. Sometimes the seedbox isn't worth the cost
