Good, Scalable Host that Allows Adult Content

I've got a website currently with Nexcess/Liquid Web, which is a decent host, although I've just discovered they force WP core auto-updates regardless of whether you disable them in the wp-config.php file.

So now I'm forced to migrate to a new host to avoid a potential problem down the line, and am hoping for something similar in service.

Basically, a host that allows adult content, can scale easily if your traffic improves, is fully managed, and I while I didn't think this was a concern I needed to have, a host that allows you to determine if and when you want to update WP core.

Unfortunately, a lot of the new managed wordpress hosts do not allow adult content, so they are not so easy to find good ones.

Is "managed WP" a requirement? I think you could go with a managed VPS and do just as well. This way you'd be free to do whatever you wanna do with your WP.

I believe the is separated industry called "Adult hosting". I would recommend you to get in touch with the providers and show what you have to host and what you expect in return. Such sites are very popular and have more visits and I agree with previous comments you would better have VPS to get started with.

No, it's not.

Manage WP is just a fancy term that a lot of hosts use.

Managed VPS is perfectly fine, there are just not a lot of good ones that allow adult hosting.

If we're talking about hosting the videos, then you need to start searching for CDN. If you just grab and embed videos then go with OVH or if you want something cheap go with oneprovider. If you don't have experience how to set up your server and use, on youtube are loads of videos about this subject.
