Good Proxy tester

Can anyone recommend a good standalone proxy tester? Something I can put a proxy list into and have it check to see if its live, if it requires a captcha and if it can reach a website?

I usually use Scrapebox proxy tester, it is not standalone but very convenient
 
Thanks ProxyGo, I've tried a bunch of apps that either are junk or didn't do what I wanted, Charon is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

and what to do.
the only thing you will need extra other than the
download is a list of proxie judges to load into
it - these are test servers to test the proxies
your checking
 
i am an ex proxyfire admin from year 1
proxyfire is a sucky proxie tester and this is from
me who worked for them until i quit in 2008
everyone knows jammo at proxyfire.
proxyfire is a multipurpose tool

and the fact you say charon is crap shows your
lack of proxie test software - anyone worth his
salt knows charon is the best tester there is
 
I love and use Proxy Firewall. Its much more than a proxy tester, its a great for forcing apps to use a specific IP.
 
scrapebox gets my vote, again not stand alone, but tests them great..

by country or filter dodgy / gateway / codeen / proxies
charon will
 
proxycollective.com is another alternative way to test proxy lists.
It should be one of the best things to test proxies and maintain a working list of them, but it's an online tool. (you can read more details on the sale page here on BHW or the website)
It's free to use (except a 99cent initial fee if you have no invitation)

Personally i dont trust online proxycheckers, most of them collect the good proxies and sell them in their vip lists i think.
 
proxycollective gives you credits for the uploaded proxies and you can get more for them, so it's not a stealing tool
