Whats a good mouse for doing repetitive stuff ? I need one that I can set a button to copy and one to paste and feels good in my hands, currently using a cheap dynex laptop mouse and its hard when I need to highlight a url, copy, and then paste with ctrl+v.

I am currently using Ubuntu as my OS.

I have an AWESOME R.A.T. 5 gaming mouse, its so awesome, and its great for repetitive clicking. Its also got a ton of extra features!
You can even program buttons (example: to copy and paste) on the side of it.

(Tip: It wasn't working for me on linux, but it runs great on windows)

I've never experienced any delays with ctrl+c and ctrl+v.

I am, but a mouse may be faster with coded buttons, but I never bought any so I dont know a reliable brand that works on ubuntu and feels good after being in my hand for hours.

Cant go wrong with Logitech. Id say as long as it has back and forward buttons on the side, any will do.

Sorry to bust your bubble bro, but a "special" mouse isn't going to make you succeed in the IM world. You can make the same with a $200 mouse as you can with a $25 mouse. But honestly, how much copy/paste are you really doing? It sounds to me like your doing clerical work ;)

by the way...I use an apple Magic Mouse. A mouse should probably be thought of as "how comfortable is it after long use", rather than "which mouse will make me more successful"

Like right now I have to copy/paste a combined total of around 3600 times for one of my projects to get it up to date.
