Want to give eBay a try just as something in my spare time to bring in a little extra cash. Depending on how things go will decide whether or not it becomes a serious thing since there are many people who make their living from selling items. My current eBay account has a small amount of feedback, 24 100% Positive to be exact. What are so good items to begin with to build up some feedback so im able to move onto bigger and better things, obviously some sort of profit on the items is needed.

1: How do you go about picking an item?
2: What are some good sites to buy items from (I live in the UK)
3: Is eBay worth trying? :)

Going to take a look around the site to see what i can find.

Thanks in advance

X-mas is around the corner, so toys would be good. Try to find something small to reduce shipping cost.

Check out the toy section on the UK site and see what's selling.

Last year the beyblades were selling like hot cakes - not sure if it's still a winner.

Well the answer depends on one thing:
Do you have an account that is established and can handle large volume, or are you starting out?

1: How do you go about picking an item?
I am sure people will tell you many different things, my advice is start with something you know about, you don't want to be selling a load of dud products, and this way you can provide support for your customers.

If your account is limited start with generic unbranded items such as charging cables etc.

If your account has higher limits, consider some headphone replicas etc where you can make 200% to 300% easily.

The best way to do it is browse Ebay, see how much of something someone has sold, and how quickly they have sold x quantity. Then head on over the a whole sale price and see what kind of margin you can make.

2: What are some good sites to buy items from (I live in the UK)
Well there is always going to be DhGate, Alibab, Aliexpress etc to buy your items from, however with all 3 you will be dealing with Chinese/Indian suppliers. Dhgate is probably best if you only have a small investment.

3: Is eBay worth trying?
Ebay is not easy, its hard to stay on top of things, and not get your account taken down. If you are starting with a low limit account it can be a painfully long way to go before you can start selling in decent quantities to make a worthwhile profit.

If you need help getting products, feel free to PM me.

I would recommend you to start with something small, with 1 item, i would love to see: MINI MP3 FOR GREAT PRICE

Mini MP3? You mean mp3 player? Do they really sell well? Because everyone can hear mp3 music with this iphone etc. these days ....

Good item to start is: Mini MP3's they get a lot of sales. I have bought 12 of them too.

try to see if you have something that is special in your country (National)
as, im from israel, i have started selling, dead sea mud, as you can buy from israel only...
try to think about that as well

Hey man I can't private message you but can you give me some tips on what to sell from ebay as a new seller? If I am selling 10 items a week of say a vero item, will they take me down?

As a new seller i think it's safe to assume that they will take you down before you even sell the first one.

Do some market research on Terapeak first. You can sign up for a 7 day free trial so this will cost you nothing to
start. After that I would suggest finding a middle man of some kind for products and make sure he drop ships the items to your future customers. Also do not be afraid to talk him down on price right away.

Don't buy some junk cheapo electronics or other drop shipped items from china. They are a dime a dozen. Fine unique items that's what so many ebayer are longing for is the old days of ebay where you could find cool, interesting and one of a kind items and deals and not 10 pages of the same drop shipped junk. I like going to auctions, storage auctions, police auctions etc for my merch. I also sell collectible currency ie iraqi dinar and vietnam dong. I do pretty well
