So I've been thinking and concocting, new money making ideas. One thing on my mind is, perhaps, buy a Antminer S9 to mine bitcoin. I'm willing to buy one every couple of months and run like a room server in my house.

but is it worth it> ? people make money just by buying/selling cryptocurrency, and they don't have to deal with any hassle

Not a good idea. It's take a lot more processing power along with all the cost involved to mine to warrant the returns.
Save your time and money and work on something else.
