Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I have been planning to start an e-learning website based on Wordpress. It’s only going to have quizzes. I am planning not to use an LMS plugin. I expect the total size of the website to be 2-3gb max. Total traffic to the website would be about 7-10k per month. As I have minimal experience in making a website and it’s optimization, I was thinking of a Wordpress managed hosting, but I’m open to suggestions. Can you guys suggest me hosting providers for my scenario? and any changes to my strategy?

I recommend digitalocean.com VPS - there you can install Wordpress on autopilot.

DigitalOcean have better network than A2Hosting, people should take care of Network and should look for it.
You will have e-learning site, you should always focus on Speed, Stability of it. DigitalOcean have a great and big network. In my opinion is the best CHOICE.
No one will buy or will stay in e-learning with slow loading page, slow network and slow video loading and also high latency.
DigitalOcean gives a 10/0 against A2Hosting IMO.

The trick is to get a hosting which you can scale up on the fly. You might not need very high configuration to begin with, but as the users and courses grow; your server will become slower; if you don't scale the hardware up.
Ofcourse you don't want to have to switch to a different hosting everytime. This is where hosting companies like amazon and digital ocean come to the rescue. You can add more resources with them on the fly, and can even have load balancers deployed easily.
As for the software, I suggest using something that is more suitable for lms, like moodle for example. You could still do it using wp, if you know what you are doing.

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, speed is very important. As of now, I am planning to only put quizzes on my website and nothing else. My plan is to make those quizzes and secure it with a membership plugin.
I'll have to do more research on digital ocean because its dismal reviews on trustpilot are not convincing me to go with them.
Honestly, its the first time I am hearing about Moodle. Thanks for the advice. I went through Moodle a bit. A great LMS with awesome functionalities. Definitely worth trying in the future. However my current focus is to build a site just having quizzes and nothing else.
Switching hosting is never great. Although I am skeptical about digital ocean due to its bad reviews relating to customer service, I'll definitely have a look at amazon. Many of my competitors use it and it is blazing FAST!!

You won't need their customer service. Been using them for the last 3 years. Never needed to contact them.
It's highly available unmanaged vps we are talking about. Same goes for amazon and linode as well.

@AlphaT10 DigitalOcean isn't bad, of course will have bad feedback and reviews. Like OVH, search for OVH is another alternative. The reviews won't be so good.
Why? More clients, more customers = More negative feedback.
DigitalOcean is upgradable at any time, if you want to add more or upgrade you can do it. Easily.
These bad feedback generally is from guys that are beginners or don't have enough knowledge or know-how to do it.
But DigitalOcean and OVH are great, their network and Firewall is a top of notch. Hetzner is another alternative, great support and network.
