Just like to introduce myself. I run a alternative news site with around 3-5 million uniques per month, with a healthy social media following of around 400k and growing.

Our news tends to be stuff covering the alternative, political, fringe type stuff. Huge portion of traffic is mobile, and driven via our social media channels (mostly facebook). We monetise via adsense right now. Looking to find better ways of monetising and expand our reach.

A bit more information about what I do.


I have a social facebook following of 450,000 "likes". A very small team post around the clock, promoting alternative news articles written on our website that are mostly curated peices of content, occasionally completely originally written, 24/7.

That comprises the majority of our traffic, almost all from mobile devices, with around 10% coming organically from Google search.

We have a loyal audience. Our facebook stats are healthy. We fluctuate between a 10 million - 20 million post reach, and a 1 million - 2 million post engagement.

We have a sidebar widget that allows users to sign up to our free newsletter (we have never marketed to the list yet, nor sent them anything). So far we've accumulated around 10,000 opt ins via this form.

I feel like we're ready to really monetise and take this to the next level.
