Good, Bad, or Average?

:detectiveI have a site that is about 7 days old. Wordpress theme, hardly any SEO other than site submission and 2 articles. Keyword dense URL with a keyword that has 1,000,000+ search queries monthly. Only 27 backlinks, none of which are high PR. Went from 76 on day 4 to 56 today (day7) on Google rank. Is this good, bad, or average?

Also, when you are looking for backlinks, does it matter that they are relevant to your content or is it only important to have the backlink? Like if I had a site about x, can I have backlinks about y?
 
I guess you could say that it is ok. There is really nothing to brag about until you get to the first page. Something with that many searches is probably super-competitive as well.

Also, relevant backlinks are way more important than just any. You can comment blast your site all you want, but if you have a nice amount of relevant, high PR backlinks, you will see better results.
 
I assumed getting with in 5 SERP in 7 days with almost no SEO whatsoever was good, but I will accept any advice or criticism.
 
Well, I would take into consideration the fact that out of those millions of results, you have one of the few keyword filled domains.
 
Good Job. You got the site up and got it indexed. Have yu taken a list of url competitors and checked them for link placements? I have found that sometimes the easiest way to outrank some sites is to get them "to vote for you". Just go down to the "search within results field" and enter platform footprints, or use your favorite tools if you have them.
 
Thats pretty good so far. Being on the 5th page with no seo? With seo, you can do pretty well. Regarding backlinks, having backlinks relating to your site, would be beneficial for you rank and rep wise.

Can you give me a quick tutorial?
 
Get Scrapebox, put in the harvester all the first and second page sites that are ranking. Use the backlink checker addon, and scrape their backlinks. Then look at those links and see how they have gotten them. Or if you are lazy like me just put all their links into fast commentor and start posting.

You will get all their auto approve blog backlinks this way;-)
 
If it's positive movement in the serps then its good.

It'll be GREAT when you hit the front page.

Just keep up the work and don't relent until you get to page 1.
 
Did you filter the searches to exact? I would be surprised if it has more than 1 million searches a month and that easy to rank. :)
