Why can't you get an internet connection? Parallels is fantastic for me, and the connection automatically sets up.

One thing I noticed is I ran into problems when I actually tried to set the connection through the Windows control panel. Delete any prefs you have there, then go to Parallels preferences and set internet connection specifics there.

VMware is great. You could also try virtualbox as a free alternative

VMWARE is nice, but in terms of ease of use and fluidity Parallels is second to none, and it performs very well, although it isn't cheap.

    Four options are now available:
    1. Parallels Desktop for Mac
    2. VMware
    3. An open source alternative (VirtualBox),
    4. And another solution that lets you install Windows apps without installing Windows (Crossover).
Those first two options are the most popular.

    Yeah VMWare Fusion is great.
But if you can't get internet running you might switch your network settings to bridged or NAT.

I help my clients all the time with getting parallels to work right, make sure you have allocated a good amount of memory for parallels when you are installing it, it will need enough to run the windows applications and the windows operating system. Also when you have windows installed make sure you have the .Net Framework installed on the windows operating system. What problems are you facing when you are trying to run parallels also how much memory dose your mac computer have?
