I just installed Cold Turkey (this is no advertising, because there is no alternative for Windows^^)
For mac it's Stay Focused.

1. Create a list of websites you are reading compulsively, in my cases:
-youtube
-tv series websites, including netflix
-politics and news services (all of them, no exception)
-facebook (if you not using for marketing)
-technogical services
-pro version can block The Lounge^^ but ill stay with free
-some online games
-steam
In general I've made 40+ websites and apps blocked.

2. Set up short timers! For example 6 days and 1 day break.
Do not set up longer periods from start because you can get crazy and will do everything to uninstall ColdTurkey

*THINK TWICE, normal uninstall is not possible. You need to kill procesess, delete files manualy, restore hosts and kill some startup services!

This software works on system level, you cannot bypass this with VPN, proxy, etc. only method is vmware or vps.

3. Do your fucking job ;)

4. This works but I needed a break, so I made post to The Lounge ;)

You can upgrade your work, I found a cool software to do it called pomotodo but you can use any pomodoro timer. This is connecting pomodoro + todo list, you are making a list of task and timers for each one. This is also not adverising ;) Just describing tools what I am using to boost productivity :D

Summary:
Am I a billionaire? Not, but I want to kill all fckin distractors from my life.

Self control is something that needs to be learned and slowly developed. Forcing it seems like it would be short lived - imo
I agree but if we have tools, why to not help yourself?
In my case is like autopilot:
politics
jump
youtube
jump
politics
jump
tv series
jump
game
jump...
6 hours wasted ;)

You mean. that software will prevent us from opening fb etc and wasting our time?

Sometime its maybe because we dint like our job much, main reason why we procrastinating ?

The key is, when you wake up, your mind is still in fresh mode.

Do not goto FB, netflix etc, instead, try complete first single task.

Trust me, after that you'll create a habit and addiction regarding of your work.

There's no need for blocking those app anymore, because you'll totally lost interest on them

Based on my experience

To concentrate, in my work I block all websites and applications with extension in chrome, but after 5 days I uninstall the extension ,thank you for this solution.

chrome extension was wrong for me because I installed vivaldi or brave later :D haha

I use the pomodoro app in my browser to help me organize my working chunks I would recommend you to use it too.

See we can waste time on youtube as well as watch some work related tutorials also right?

So, technically it should not be blocked.

Self control is the KEY.

most of youtube experts are fake and making some bullshit to get only subscribe :D

I wish it were as easy as that, I just find other distractions! I tried blocking apps and sites but really nothing works, I just end up forcing myself to do what I need to do. Hoping to find a better method soon though.

Or you can level up. Read http://www.calnewport.com/books/deep-work/ and http://www.calnewport.com/books/digital-minimalism/ by Cal Newport. Then focus up. Supplement with https://www.amazon.com/Tools-Titans-Billionaires-World-Class-Performers-ebook/dp/B01HSMRWNU by Tim Ferriss. This way, you can get your advice from actual billionaires, not @vinku

While you keep wondering - you losing time and energy on such thoughts keeping yourself in the loop, no?
