First of all: the friendly search did not find anything.

I am going to sell a bot but what I am scared of is anyone taking legal action against me (the company of course - like FB if I made a FB bot). We all know what happened to FW, right? So what can I do to protect my self? I don't want to talk about what kind of bot it is. I've heard that if I was from China or something they could not do anything. Any tips?

If it's a ".exe" file, I'd suggest using a hex editor to make sure no file/folder paths are stored in it, also check for computer name or username. If it's a ".net" application it can usually be decompiled and any comments you entered will be visible (find a "packer" to compress/scramble your EXE file, then hex edit that file to remove references to that packer in the exe - don't use UPX, it's too obvious).

Use Tor (The Onion Router) to hide your IP for any accounts you sign-up for, or postings you make.
 
Just make yourself anonamous as possible. Make new profile that is not asociated with your ip in selling your bots. Find a good proxy. Or JV with someone who could sell your products. Someone thats is not subject to US Laws and European Laws.
 
if it's .net you need an obfucator (the optimizer will take care of comments in release version) , if it's other than UPX encrypt it
 
@bbrez1, i'm watching this thread with great interest.
I recently sent a list of tools to a developer requesting they start work. Most of the tools were just for my private collection (of course i'll share them here with BlackHatters) but a couple i had in mind for commercial release.
Your thread has just given me nightmares. Honestly, it's not something i had even considered.
Sheeesh, only way i can think of is using an anonymous account on a server, anon payment methods & not attaching the brand to anything that your doing legitimately.
 
There's a video on bypassing AntiVirus detection, that should help you "encrypt" your program - not sure if it'll work with other packers, and if you'll need to use them before or after this - (the second half of the video has to do with hacking Windows through a .ani file exploit, you can ignore that):

Google for "muts at shmoo", should be first result.
 
I'm more into programming, reverse engineering and internet security than SEO/InternetMarketing ;)
 
Well the thing is this is a FB bot and it has some amazing features that other bots don't have and I am very confident that this will sell very good. If FB wants they could easily track me even with me using proxies (they would just demand my IPs from the proxy supplier). Does anyone have any more info what happened to the guy who made FW, is he getting sued? :confused:
