I have a bilingual site. French and English. Big site, 5 years old
2 months ago I changed from http to https
What happened since then
1) Rankings for French pages went through the roof. Massive improvements, more visitors
2) English pages are indexed with https so google found them. But they are not ranking AT ALL. I lost ALL my rankings which were pretty good before even for tough keywords
I really dont get this. Technically the setup for the French and English site is the same. 301 from http to https is working properly. No problems with the SSL certificate.
I mean if rankings for both languages were lost I would somehow understand it. But this one I dont get
Any ideas guys what happend and what I could do? (going back to http is not an option)
