Going from Number 12 to first page?

I have a site with a relativiely competitive key word that is ranking number 12 all I have done with this site are a few scrape box blasts, a few articles in high pr article directories

Im not quite sure where to go from here in getting it to move to the first page. I also dont want to lose rankings either, what would be the best way to go, some high pr backlinks, or continuing small scrapebox blasts each day and articles?

Any advice would be appreciated, this is my first real go with seo and actually getting some results

High PR backlinks all the way. Then blast those links with Scrapebox.

I believe you need more link diversity to penetrate the first page, blog comments and article directories are not enough for high competition keywords.

Ummmmmm How about more unique content?
3 days ago I was in position 11 added an article, yesterday I popped up in position 9.

500 word article around 3-4% keyword density, H1 and H2 tags and that was it. I have another article going up today, but I did buy a service yesterday also to try to get in the top 5.

But as I said, I made the jump from page 2 to page 1 by simply adding an article.

Did you put the keyword in the h1 or h2 tag or both? Or did you just filter it throughout the article?

I recommend using iSnare for publishing for articles, what about a couple of Link Wheel using some top WEB 2.0 properties?

Add a blast of Social Bookmarks for diversity and then SB those Social Bookmarks.
