:D howdy, im quite inexperienced with godaddy and hosting in general so read the question with that in mind, ive only ever had single hosted websites on various providers, anyway...

Signed up for goddady deluxe hosting plan, setup my hosting account and made a website and all was fine.. The reason i went for delux hosting btw was because of the "unlimited" websites you can setup.

Im trying to setup my second website now so i tried to setup another hosting section in my account (pic1); so i go to hosting but there is now way to make any new hosting for my new site (appart from some crappy economy hosting free credits)..

Now from the looks of it i guessed i have the wrong idea, so i went into the hosting account i set up the other day (pic2) and i go to the option to add a new domain and it tells me i can choose a sub folder to setup the content of the new domain in...

is this normal? ..just a bit pissed now because ive already dumped my first website in the root.. there goes my file organisation

thx bhw ;)

Get a refund from go daddy, seriously. Your better off getting hosting from DP lol

i know they have a shit rep but doesnt matter who you host with someone will say they are crap, i just went with godaddy because they are cheap and price was my main priority, seeing as im just using it mainly for learning purposes :) .. i 'think' thisis the deal anyway: you just have to use sub folders... ive been making sub folders called /site_mybiggaywebsite etc ... il be fucked if im moving my first site, spent too long making it already.....godaddys help files are worse than shit, their site is slow as fuck too :smashfrea

First the anti-godaddy info:

Godaddy tends to take down sites with little to know warning for reported spam and copyright violations...without any legitimate process.

for accounts of this checkout nodaddy.com

that being said, I still use them on all my legitimate enterprises because I was impressed with their phone support when i first got involved with running my own sites.

What I think your trying to do:

Your master hosting account is www.example.com

any sub folders you create will be sub domains.

store.example.com

that sub domain "store" has its own folder and can have unique applications and databases stored within it.

for example I have zen cart installed on my "store" sub domain, and wordpress installed on apporx 12 diff subdomains.

You can point/associate any other domains you purchase at your subdomain of store.example.com ie. examplestore.com with masking that subfolder will never be anything more than an organizational tool for you.

Yes GoDaddys internal help files are pretty weak...but google searches will always solve that problem as will their phone support. As for the site being slow...idk know about that particularly since I rarely access my site via the godaddy site...hopefully you are using ftp for all of your site updates.?

for deluxe hosting you go into your hosting account (i.e. manage hosting or whatever it is in your pic). then in the hosting control panel, in one of the sections you have an option for "domain" or "domain management" and in here you can add a new domain for your 2nd site into the hosting account. you will then create a new folder for your 2nd site.
