GoDaddy won't accept Paypal?

What kind of shit is this?

I want to get a 0.99cent domain for a year from GoDaddy. I went through the entire procedure of registering, and in the end it asked me for Credit/Debit card information. I though that on the next page it would make it available for me to pay with Paypal, but it seems that I will be charged on my Debit card, and there's no Paypal option to choose...

So I made a quick Google search, and found this about GoDaddy:

"Some promotional codes are not compatible with PayPal and, if you are using them, will not give you the option to add PayPal to your account nor process orders with PayPal."

Is this true?

Will namechap allow me to pay with Paypal and do they have a 99cent for the first year deal too?

Some coupons are applicable only to certain payment types.

It means the coupon is not valid for PayPal purchase. If you remove the coupon you may see the PayPal option.

The best godaddy promo codes don't allow paypal. It's a pain in the ass. I've never seen a namecheap coupon for anywhere close to $0.99. At most a couple dollars off.

1and1.com offers .com for $0.99 first year without a coupon. I think they accept paypal but can't be 100% sure as I've never purchased from them

I think I'll just throw it all in the trash can and go with Hostgator (where my site will be hosted too) for my domain name.

It's $12.95 per year. Okay, fuck it. At least I'll have everything centralized in one place...

And, I always had a positive opinion about GoDaddy from reading about them here and there, but now I'll be shitting on them. If you don't have Paypal available for paying, no matter what, you should close shop and go do something else..

IIRC, it also depends on the currency you choose to make the payment like some coupons can be used only for USD and such.

I would not do that, it is best to keep hosting and domains separate.

Hostgator won't let me pay with Paypal either to register a domain name...

What's happening to the world?

So now my question is, where THE FUCK can I register a domain name and pay with Paypal? And pay a reasonable, low, price.

summit a support ticket and maybe they will let you pay through paypal

Exactly. I landed on this article too a minute ago, and now I'm talking to support about it.

They told me, quote, "You want to pay with Paypal right? I can see if I can set this up."

"I can get that going. I highly recommend domain privacy protection with the domain for $9.95. Would you like to include that with the domain? "

So I guess that's a great turn of events. I am already an existing customer with Hostgator, so they're helping me out. I'm not sure if they would've done it if I was a new customer, but I suspect they would. I mean, they will make money out of this deal...

Maybe PayPal takes fees? Every time I buy something with PayPal I have extra fees on that purchase.

I'm sure they do, but I'm certain those big companies have their micropayment whatever accounts paying minimal fees. Or even if not, it's a small fee that's gonna cut into their profit, but they'll still profit.

Yea I only found out about this with GoDaddy just recently. The only way around it that I've been able to figure out is to not use any coupons at all as it allows you to pay with paypal. The only problem is the cost of the domain is obviously a lot more.

quick answer: Godaddy does not use the paypal option when customers use promo codes because they lose $ on fees and charges.

This is why I avoid that service like the plague. They ask for proof ID etc when you want to access the key, to sell your domain.
Guys, I recommend 1&1 and namecheap. Very affordable and reliable too.
