Godaddy Stole my $60k valued domain

A few years back I used to run my own wehosting/domain registrar company. It's a very rewarding job and it was so fun. After managing the whole company for about 1.5 years or so I sold it for a nice healthy profit hehe.

Kewl. If the forum doesn't want to do it then we should get together and set up a business plan and domain etc. I guess the first step would be to decide if the forum wants to sponsor it or would it be a joint venture among a group of members.
 
emmm, I have most of my domains at godaddy. This is really damn...
Wondering if there is still a good registrar around...

Also is it possible that they never stole it but it was mistakenly
forward ... I bet the registar was still yours ..

A real weird one is: I get renewal notices for domains I never purchased but are under my name ? And the registar won't give me access ...:confused:

godaddy is fucking shit.
sure but what is better mydomain.com'registerflies etc.
you dont have choose(better large registrator than small)

HaRRo, any update? I've been reading lots of bad things about godaddy recently and don't think I'll be registering any more of my domains there.

Are there any registrars that don't pull this stuff?
 
yup, GD sucks! one of their TOS, if they received 1 spam report, immediately they will take your domain without further investigations.
 
WOW, that's terrible! I have all mine at Godaddy as well, and haven't had any problems yet. This is the first I have heard of this- thanks for the warning!
 
Last time, I buy a lot of domains at GD coz of their $1.99, $0.99 promo. I just moved most of my domains at GD to other registrar once it close to expiry.

Beside that, one thing I don't like with GD, it's so expensive to stay and renew your domain coz you've to pay extra for privacy & ICANN fee.
 
godaddy do what they want at the moment we should all stop buying from them , i am sure they will change their tune then
 
So what happened to the guy who had his domain stolen? Never read anything more about it or if he ever got it back

He posted in another thread. Luckily he had proof and was able to get it back. But seems that if he couldn't prove it it would have been gone.:eek:
 
Sorry guys, for what happened. I've already heard some 'horror stories' about GD.
Personally I've moved my domains to Servage. Time being I'm satisfied with their services.
