The transfer price includes one more year of registration to what you already have. So technically, moving it is free. I recently move one from go-daddy to name and had no problems.

I doubt if they actually bought information from a huge company such as Godaddy they would use it for spamming, with broken english, such a bad copywriting etc.

As for the spam, I didn't use to get FROM THIRD PARTIES that I remember, I did use to get a lot of spam from their official address, though. In name I've received no crap so far.

ive had plenty of times where I made an email specifically for that domain registration
so it couldnt have been used elsewhere
and it gets spam if I reg from godaddy

namecheap doesnt get this shit

That said couldnt you scrape the domain zone files for domains registered that day and then whois them and then email? that would get the desired result

if its done like that its not godaddys fault I suppose other than that they should have better rate limiting for whois but I suppose they could easily workaround this by requesting whois from other sources?

I'm buying about 30 domains a month from Godaddy and transferring them every month once the 2 month waiting period is over to namecheap, if you have a ton of domains 1$ privacy vs 10$ at godaddy can save you thousands.
 
the question is did you buy the domain together with whoisguard or did you buy the domains first then whoisguard laters?

cos if you buying domain first then whoisguard later... that small time different does affecting. there are sites and statistics that tracking new website registrations so there are crawlers that crawl whois data faster than pewep peeing...
 
I stopped registering with GoDaddy because of the spam I was receiving (I didn't always pay for privacy protection).

Godaddy sell your data.

It is NO coincidence that when i register a new domain on godaddy i get a torrent of eligible bullshit spam emails.

OR this twat tards have synced to whenever a new domain is registered and then send emails.

It makes a lot of sense to email people who have just registered domains vs someone who has had a domain for year.

It's either/or.

Either way i want to respond to every email with; "fuck off" but i just know i would be added to so many more lists for doing so.
 
I have the same thing it was getting that bad i had to setup a spam filter for it
