IMHO Namecheap is better but Godaddy offer more coupon so you can get one cheaper from Godaddy

wait for cyber day, and you will have a chance to get $0.98 .com from namecheap, Cheer!!!

Never found anyone who has managed to get one of these yet !
I did pick up a couple of dirt cheap SSLs on Friday though.

Namecheap give free privacy and if you have over 50 domains with them, speak to customer services about loyalty discounts for both renewals and new buys.

Somebody just said they had the best support with Godaddy.....Oooh please The supports in godaddy are the worst. its like employing a cook to handle database errors. Every hitch should be in their notes if it is not there they simply tell you that the error is on your end.

One day they forgot to activate innodb engine, for mysql after maintainance, for those of you who know innodb most sites cant run without it die to transaction and processing advantages. So i run the engines and realized that over 10 sites were down on that IP. I asked the guy to just activate innodb. It was hell...... it took 3 hours. After a zillion calls they did it.
Godaddy never..... tell them to employ atleast techies wannabies in there level 1 of support

Was looking for this info. :). How easy it was to transfer from GD to NC?

I have 2 domains purchased from Godaddy, and want them to trasfer to NameCheap. Btw, had always purchased domains from NC (more than 5 years and 30-40 domains purchased on it), but had these 2 purchased for my friend in his name because of the big discount (Don't remember exactly, could be $1.99 for .coms) from godaddy some days back...

Transfer is very easy, takes usually close to a week, but I didn't have downtime between the transfers. All you need is the EPP code.

I prefer Namecheap. I haven't found Godaddy's support to be very good, and I wasn't impressed when it came to renewal either. I still have some domains with them though.

I have really bad experience with GoDaddy. Go away from them. I move all my domains from there to other registrars including NameCheap and now all my troubles are gone.

Please everyone, stay away from Godaddy, they are the worst.
I transfered out like 300 domains from them a few years ago.
They build their rep on expensive advertising, then try and nickel and dime you, and sneak in extra features and costs to milk you dry.

I've only heard bad things about godaddy, so I try to stay away from them no matter what.
