I wonder if they changed their mind because a lot of people were ready to jump ship
so much for their last reply about how their business wasn't affected.
Progress, in time for Christmas. But note GoDaddy does not oppose SOPA, it merely pulled positive endorsement of it. It does not express any philosophical or principled objection to any of the assault on free speech, just blather about their site being " rooted in the idea of First Amendment Rights." The problem is GoDaddy has evidenced problems in this regard that predates the SOPA controversy---their embrace of SOPA simply underlined them. They will wait until the controversy dies down just enough, then re-endorse about the same bill when no one is looking, or mobilizing boycotts.
Yea I don't buy it either. Boycott is still on. December 29th!
I HATE GoDaddy with a passion, their whole site, the million upsells, the HORRENDOUS UI/UX, so don't need to give me another reason to boycott them.
Really the only redeeming thing about their whole company is Danica Patrick in the commercials, but I feel like all the other issues are beginning to FAR outweigh her.
Wait, what? When did they replace Parsons
Hilarious. Guess they were losing more money off customers than they were making off Hollywood
I wonder how big of a hit their wallets took
Bloody Idiots.... How can you be so stupid to take a sh*tty decision, loose XXXXX $ and then change your stance 180 degrees...
So much on their word...
Blah it's so idiotic that I can laugh... "
i DO NOT like Godaddy and their stu..d boss
The boycott is still on baby. I stop using them in early 2010, can care less about their deals.
Godaddy was actually involved in drafting this repugnant terrorist/world police legislation. Im moving to hosting24 right now.
"Initially, GoDaddy was defiant. In a statement emailed to Ars Technica Thursday evening, the company said "Go Daddy has received some emails that appear to stem from the boycott prompt, but we have not seen any impact to our business."
But this reaction only enraged GoDaddy's customers. And evidently, the impact on their business began to be more obvious on Friday." With this statement: Go Daddy: *Insert foot and bite down*
At least there is some unity in the online community. Even if our political system is just a sham, a joke - to the highest bidder, we, if united, should still be able to delay what may be the inevitable.
