in my currency .com domain is 39.99 and when i try to buy it it says 169.99, this is 100% clickbait, nothing else. they're literally doing clickbait. I just went to atm and came from atm to buy .com domain and it says 39.99 and when i wanna buy the domain it says 169.99.. what a wonderful marketing strategy, great job. keep it up. Just be honest with the real price, what is the purpose of saying 39.99 and when i wanna buy you're showing me 169.99? what's the purpose??

Thanks for the heads up.

Godaddy has been the king of clickbait in the industry for ages. They used to have ads with girls with big tits before turning woke. But they keep living with shaddy marketing techniques to hook you.
This is why they became so successul despite very poor customer service and huge renewal costs.
I only use them for their auctions because you can get things you find nowhere else. But I always move out my domain names ASAP.

Don't buy from Godaddy. many other better alternatives like Namechip, which also gives you free whois privacy.

An exemple here : https://www.namepros.com/threads/go...vels-therefore-im-done-as-a-customer.1251595/

For historical reference kids, Godaddy made its success based on this kind of ads in the past :

Jesse "Walter" Heiman for President.

Absolute legend.

It's a big mystery how Godaddy is one of the largest hosting/domain businesses.
They are so low in every aspect.

the worst registrar ever i known... many alternative you can use dude.

Godaddy is only good for one thing... a lesson in over priced underperforming products.

I have a customer that uses them for hosting, I hate working on those sites, connectivity is slow and disconnects all the time.

it's not a mystery. The masses are usually stupid and/or ignorant, and you need the masses to grow big like godaddy, so that's why they're so big (because they fooled the masses).

But yeah, they're low...

Wasn't aware of that. Perhaps it's good business to be woke these days? I see everyone doing the same, from car racing to whatever.
Modern times seem to impose virtue signaling all the time to satisfy Twitter and other social medias.
So marketing teams of big companies keep copying each other and take absolutely zero risk by doing the same stuff as everyone else.

But honestly who cares about the skin color of a domain owner? Imagine asking by email a webmaster if he/she is black or white to make a business decision.
As a SEO I only care if the backlink is good or not, which is maybe a bit too old school.

Godaddy is the most manipulative domain registrar company i've ever seen in the industry this is why i prefer namesilo with any other reputed hosting provider, not only clickbait but i seen hundreds of threads everywhere of people complaining about their terrible services.

I don't know how they keep staying as first hosting and domain company.
All internet professionals I know absolutely dislike Godaddy. Dynadot is great for domains. Lots of services and good price. The normal price is even cheaper than the expensive Godaddy discount club.

I guess people fall into the agressively discounted first year trap and get rip off the second year by paying double what they should do.

Look at their history after they have been a publicly traded company with shareholder funds buying up competitors like Uniregistry. They spend lot's of money on advertising too, just saw an ad I didn't click on Youtube for some new payment service. They have a huge market share and brand name that people "trust". I haven't looked in awhile, but those domain auctions have no unique ID, so bidder1 versus bidder2 vs bidder3 nonsense allowed for those "approved" API users to _____ well, fill in the blank. Their hosting I sure don't get why people put up with it, other than having their domain registered with them and not knowing how to change nameservers. Their "upgraded" front end is horrible too, very confusing- perhaps on purpose. Who knows. I did some work for someone a few months ago and had to log in to their system- it was super slow and it took forever in cPanel for uploading changes to a one page html site to load. They evidently stuck them on a slow server. Ridiculous.
